Debate May 24, 2016

Topic :  Should attendance be made compulsory in Engineering colleges? Attendance is not important than knowledge : Saurabh , Taruna Oh ! This is right : Deeksha, Poonam College Attendance Policies Most colleges expect students to attend all of their classes. After all, what would be the point in enrolling students to get an education and then figuring they didn't need to actually show up? Specific attendance policies can vary from one college to another or even from one class to another. For example, at Siena College each professor creates his or her own policy. Some colleges might consider missing class to play in a sports game, take part in an academic competition or go on a field trip an official excuse and could therefore be more accepting of the reason. Game of Marbles (Kanche)

Believe it or not, but no one really knows where marbles originated. They've been found in the ashes of Pompeii and in the tombs of ancient Egyptians, and they were played with by Native American tribes, so it's impossible to pin down a precise country of origin. The earliest examples were simply stones that had been polished smooth by a running river, but for centuries artisans made them by hand from clay, stone, or glass. Mass production became possible in 1884, when Sam Dyke of Akron, Ohio, created a wooden block with six grooves, each of which held a lump of clay. An operator would roll a wooden paddle over all the clay balls at once, with a back-and-forth and slightly lateral motion, creating six marbles. With around 350 employees, Dyke's factory was cranking out five train carloads, or about one million marbles, every day. Mass production made marbles much cheaper to make, allowing the price to drop from about one penny each to a bag of 30 marbles for the same pri...

Debate - Beauty contests degrade womanhood

As the name suggests "Beauty contests". Beauty contests are not just a platform to showcase the beauty of the body. Indeed, it's a platform to display the beauty of one's soul and heart. Society should encourage women to be a part of it as its made with a whole and sole ideology to build confidence and to make them bold and beautiful. As we know that "with great powers come great responsibility ". So, it's a responsibility of the people working under the beauty contests not to misuse powers in their hands and n...
